Amboseli

Amboseli is the land of the giant tusker: big elephant families crossing the dried lake bed beneath the snow-capped dome of Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, which frames almost every view. The park is famous for its large, approachable elephant herds, plus lions, cheetahs, buffalo and more than 400 bird species around the permanent swamps. This three-day safari times the drives for the golden hours when the light on Kilimanjaro is at its best, and includes a visit to a Maasai community on the park's edge.
